Becoming can turn a YouTube video into highlights drawn from its transcript — useful for talks, lectures, and interviews you learn from.
Two ways to add a video
Section titled “Two ways to add a video”Paste a link
Section titled “Paste a link”- In the web app, go to your library and choose Add source.
- Pick YouTube.
- Paste the video’s URL.
Save from the video page
Section titled “Save from the video page”On a YouTube watch page, click the extension’s Save to Becoming button. The Becoming Chrome extension sends the video to your library. (Desktop only.)
Timestamped highlights
Section titled “Timestamped highlights”Highlights come from the video’s transcript. Each one carries a ▶ timestamp chip — click it to jump straight to that moment in the video.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The import runs in the background; highlights appear when it finishes.
- The video needs captions (or an auto-generated transcript). Without them, there’s no text to turn into highlights.
- Reading the transcript costs 1 AI credit per ~15 minutes of video. Saving the video and its transcript is free — if your credits don’t cover the whole video, both still land in your library and the transcript is highlighted as far as the credits go.
