Kobo
Kobo e-readers keep your highlights in a single database file on the device. Upload that file and Becoming reads your highlights from it. You’ll see a preview before anything is saved.
This is a one-time import, not a live sync. To bring in newer highlights later, connect the device again and upload a fresh copy of the file.
Find your KoboReader.sqlite file
Section titled “Find your KoboReader.sqlite file”- Connect your Kobo to your computer with a USB cable.
- The Kobo shows up as a drive. Open it.
- Open the hidden
.kobofolder (turn on “show hidden files” if you don’t see it). - Copy
KoboReader.sqliteto your computer.
Import into Becoming
Section titled “Import into Becoming”- In the web app, go to your Library.
- Click Add source and choose Kobo.
- Upload the
KoboReader.sqlitefile. - Review the preview of the books and highlights that were found, then confirm.
The preview and import happen right away.
What gets imported
Section titled “What gets imported”- Your highlights across the books on the device.
- Your notes, when the file includes them.
- Each book’s title and author, so they land as Books in your library.
Highlights are deduplicated by content, so uploading the file again never creates duplicates.
