Goodreads

Connecting Goodreads brings your shelves into Becoming and adds popular quotes to the books you’ve read, so you start with real passages to work from.

Connect Goodreads

1. In the web app, go to your library and choose Add source.
2. Pick Goodreads.
3. Paste your Goodreads profile URL — e.g. https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/12345 — and click Sync Goodreads.

To find your profile URL: go to goodreads.com and sign in, click your profile picture → Profile, then copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.

Note

Your Goodreads profile must be public for your shelves to import. Becoming reads your public shelves — it never signs in to your account.

What gets imported

Becoming imports the books on your shelves:

• Read
• Currently-reading
• To-read

For your first read books, Becoming also adds popular quotes — passages other readers highlighted most — so those books arrive with highlights even if you never marked them yourself. Popular quotes carry a Popular chip (and a Translated chip when shown in another language).

While it runs

The import runs in the background. You can keep using the app while Becoming works through your shelves; your books and highlights appear as they finish.
