Your Starter Shelf
Not everyone arrives with a Kindle full of highlights. If your library is empty, you can still start today: tell Becoming what you’re working on, and it fills a starter shelf with popular books and talks on those topics — along with the passages readers come back to most.
Where to start it
Section titled “Where to start it”- From Home. While your library is empty, Home shows Start your Daily Review where your review would be. Choose Get started. This works on the web and in the app.
- During setup. On the step where you choose your sources, below the ways to import and an Or, choose Start from your interests. This works on the web and in the app.
Pick your topics
Section titled “Pick your topics”What are you working on? Pick one or more from the list — Focus, Habits, Sleep, Money, Meaning, Relationships, Leadership, Calm, Health, and Creativity.
Choose your shelf
Section titled “Choose your shelf”Your starter shelf shows the books and talks Becoming picked for those topics. Everything starts ticked — untick any you’d rather skip, keeping at least one.
If there’s nothing for those topics in your language yet, the shelf says so. Go back and try a few others.
Your first review
Section titled “Your first review”From Home, choose Start my first review. Becoming adds the shelf to your library — it takes a few seconds — and then opens your first Daily Review with passages from it.
During setup, the button reads Continue instead: Becoming adds the shelf, shows you what was added, and you carry on with setup from there.
The shelf is yours from then on: the books and talks sit in your library like anything you imported, and you can delete any of them. When you’re ready, bring in your own highlights and they join the same library.
